Why is Shades of Green Fertiliser River Safe?
Our soil solubility testing shows that Shades of Green fertilisers leach very little, if any, of their ingrediants through the soil profile to soak into streams, rivers and oceans.
This contrasts directly with chemical NPK fertilisers, which are highly water soluble and wash rapidly into our waterways. Maures and composts may also leach excessive nitrogen and nitrates. In many places, the application of raw manures to gardens and farms has been totally prohibited for this reason.
Phosphates and nitrogen are the major cause of algal blooms and waterway eutrophication. When water flow is reduced, fish suffocate and animals and people are exposed to deadly toxins. The flow of excessive phosphates and nitrogen into our oceans is also taking a toll on coral reefs and our marine coastal environment.
